In a remarkable display of solidarity and compassion, the employees of our electrical cooperative have united to establish the Sulphur Springs Valley Community Empowerment Fund (SSVCEF). For many years, our employees have generously opened their wallets to assist members who have faced difficult times. Throughout the year, anonymous donors visit our offices with generous contributions for those struggling to get by. By creating this Empowerment Fund, we can ensure a steady flow of support from our employees and community members. This initiative aims to provide crucial assistance to our community members who are having trouble keeping up with the essential utility payments. Essential utilities include electricity, gas and water. By pooling resources and extending a helping hand, we strive to ensure that on one is left in the dark due to financial hardships. The Community Empowerment Fund embodies our commitment to fostering a supportive and resilient community where every member can thrive and feel secure. Together, we are lighting the way to a brighter future for all.
Donations can be made either monthly or as a one-time contribution. As a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations not only help those in need but also qualify for tax deductions.
The SSVCEF has recently entered into an agreement with St. Vincent de Paul to help us get these funds to those who need them. St. Vincent has a proven track record of being able to reach those community members who are in need. We happily put our donations into their capable hands to distribute each month. Community members who live within our service territory may apply for assistance by providing current past due notices and proof of hardship. Assistance may be provided once each 12 months to cover the past due amount up to $300.
